DANNY LEE CHOREOGRAPHER

Militza from Bare Face meets with Danny, a choreographer based in Dubai started his dance career at the age of 18, relatively late considering many people are put through dance classes from an early age.

Throughout his childhood he really wanted to dance but it was never really accepted as a viable career.

That changed when he was old enough (and legal enough) to make his own decisions – and off he popped to train at some of the UK’s most prestigious dance schools that included Dolphin, Merseyside and LIPA, the performing arts school founded by Beatle legend Sir Paul McCartney

Once out of dance school – the professional stage beckoned with stints on shows in venues all over the UK, backing dancing for big name artistes and events as well as a 4th place spot on hit UK talent show Got To Dance as part of the team “Dance Dynamix”, beating off competition from over 20,000 group entries

Always on the look out for new challenges, Danny came to the UAE in October 2011 and now wants to make his own unique contribution to the UAE / Middle East’s growing entertainment and performance industry

Since his arrival he has choreographed the Esquire “Man and his Best” awards as well as fashion shows for global brands such as Ted Baker – no mean feat considering he has been here just over 16 weeks!

With his own dance production company – Jam Packed – Danny has launched dance classes with the support of Bareface and aims to find and put together talented dancers that are going to take the region by storm and revolutionize the professional dance industry, as well as develop and nurture people who want to get their first steps in dancing
